Our Work
HUX Architecture is actively responding to the evolving zoning landscape in British Columbia by creating thoughtful, well-designed projects that align with both current regulations and future urban needs. As zoning policies shift to support greater housing diversity and density, we see this as an opportunity to design smarter, more adaptable spaces that serve the unique goals of each client.

Our approach is rooted in a deep understanding of local bylaws and development potential, allowing us to navigate these changes effectively and strategically. Whether it’s introducing gentle density through multiplexes, adding secondary suites, or optimizing underutilized lots, we work closely with clients to unlock the full potential of their properties—without compromising on design quality or community character.

By staying ahead of policy updates and integrating them into our design process, HUX Architecture is helping shape a more flexible and sustainable built environment across the province.

2342 E 40th Avenue
This thoughtfully designed four-unit complex, completed in 2024, features two side-by-side duplex buildings, collectively providing four new homes on a single multifamily site. Completed with an emphasis on both efficiency and livability, the project strikes a balance between density and comfort—offering a smart housing solution within an urban context.

Both buildings share a cohesive architectural language, following the same clean and contemporary design form to create a unified streetscape. While visually consistent, the buildings are functionally distinct: one of the duplexes includes secondary basement suites in each unit, introducing added flexibility for extended family living or potential rental income.

At the heart of the site lies a shared central courtyard—a welcoming green space that fosters community connection while still maintaining a sense of privacy. Each home enjoys its own dedicated outdoor area that opens onto this communal space, creating a seamless blend of private and shared living.

This project reflects a modern approach to multifamily design, prioritizing smart layouts, adaptable living options, and a strong sense of place for residents.
